Aerokits 46inch crash tender

hello,

i have some old model boat kits , one of which is an original Aerokits crash tender circa 1968 ,there is about 10% of the kit missing ,i have the plan and build instructions ,but im missing the assembly diagrams sheet and the templates sheet. is there anybody on here that may have these please

Hi Stewart and welcome to the forum,

As far as the missing parts are concerned, you can create new ones from the plans. There are various different methods ranging from 'pricking through' to 'ironing-on' to the wood using carbon paper. Alternatively, photocopy the missing parts, cut them out and paste them directly to wood.

I expect some of the others may be able to help with assembly /templates if they have built the model – I know it was very popular in its day. There are some videos on Youtube which may interest you. Also, have a trawl through some of the build threads on the forum – there may be some thing there…

I bought one of these this morning – the plan and build instructions are present, but haven't shifted enough wood out of the way to see if there is anything more printed material. In my experience, older models like this didn't include parts templates as everything ws ready cut, nor did they have assembly diagrams. I will check mine later and let you know if there is anything else in the box.

I've checked through my kit, there are only the plan and and the instruction leaflet. The assembly diagrams are mentioned in large print on the plan, but are not present in my kit. Looks like we are in the same boat with our boats!
