      ,Hello All ,

My next scratch build , is a grey boat , based on a f/glass car boot hull,

now have a drawing to match, called Brave Borderer, by Ken Hards,

mm plan costing 10 shillings now thats going back a bit …

started with wheel house which seemed a good place to start,

using styrene sheet also some interesting shapes nice and curvey …

not much detail on drawing so research will be needed , so looking for info ANY BODY help..?…..but two nice boffor guns shown so will look forward building those two nice mini kits , like making weapons ,..

have few pictures to show progress , will post when entered in my photos cheers Larry…

You were supposed to be taking things easy, these days, Larry

And what do you do?……Start another boat!

Anyway, don`t understand the blue cabin…..followed by another cabin looking thing?

            What`s going on?

            Bob

              hi ya Larry,

Have you looked at the 1:16 build done by Martin  13 on that forum../…cant remember its name it where all the Mayhemmers hang aboot and talk about welfare and stuff like that

As Martin 13 has a good deal of information about these boats and he received a lot of information from John Lambert. Maybe worth trying to send Martin an email, but, he may be a bit busy at the moment cause both he and his Mrs are volunteer firefights in the land of downunder Australia and it may be he is busy – but he will reply to you when he can I am sure.http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9865.msg382761.html#msg382761

                      hi larry,

you may talk about a rr merlin, but someone got there first.

                      see the aeroboat here http://www.sail-world.com/index.cfm?Nid=109145&refre=y&ntid=0&rid=8

                      looks rather wicked.

                        Larry

It might be a little off subject but during WW2 SOE had a converted speedboat boat with two merlins for quick trips across the channel, I don't know if it still survives today but I did see it at Trearddur Bay in the late 1960s where the owner told me all about the boats amazing history,

Larry. Would think you need a bit more power than the 385s. Minimum MFA 380`s, or speed 400`s on 7.2v and poss 30mm 2 blade S pitch props, or if you want to keep the motors smallish, the JP 480 is a nice powerful "speed 400 and-a-bit" sort. OTHERS would have a single prop and a speed 600 or 700 motor, but I like the ideas of loads of props. Adds a certain something to the model.

I know you are not a speed merchant but a bit of "go" is required here!

Lockers..nice in the pictures, Making loads..or loads of hatches (all the same) and so on…what a fag. A job for casting if ever there was one . Not done much casting myself, ought to have more of a go really.

                              Good Morning Ashley,

Thank you for comments , and advice,

speed 400 are not about at the moment,

see i am not credit card holder,

have to visit proper shops or trade shows …….and pay cash…

if you wonder why …..had personal details stolen …swmbo as bared all card dealings.

on the model front,……..i would not wish id theft on my worse enemy ,……

                              still smarting …………cheers Larry……

A bit more done on rear deck , vent stack , and ammo lockers , vent boxes , access hatches ,

only have pictures to wok off , so a bit hit and miss , vent stack was a challenge , but dont look to bad in the temp mock up , detail bridge is next, of to model boat show at Warwick, so be able to buy a few bits and pieces

for cash , and see what i am buying…………cheers Larry………………………..
