(Postage is steep don't u think!)

I didn't look that far, Glynn, but I'm glad I was able to stumble on a supplier for you.

On the subject of "steep" P&P I ordered a prop from a well-known supplier and was surprised to be charged £4 + VAT (total £4.80) as P&P. This appeared to consist only of a Mail Lite bag and a 1st Class Large Letter stamp – total cost to them £1.06. Add that to the fact that this supplier sells almost exclusively to the general public yet shows prices Less VAT in the catalogue means that my £14 prop ended up costing me over £22. I have since found another supplier of cast bronze props, tubes and shafts etc. My £22 prop would have been £14 from this supplier and the two props I have subsequently purchased from him are every bit as good. If anyone would like further details then just PM me.

Yea I know what your saying Dave. If we order two or three cheapish items in a week, from different suppliers, the cost of postage is often more than the stuff you've bought. Not much to be done about it, only grin and bear it.

From memory the rod on your link was £2.50 and the post about £6:50!

        thanks once more, Glyn.

I don't object to paying a reasonable amount for the convenience of having the goods delivered but I draw the line at a supplier adding a 300% mark-up to the cost of P&P before charging it out. That's just cynical profiteering. It's not as if the props are exactly cheap items, even without the dreaded VAT. Such practices deserve to be highlighted.

            I'm with you Dave.

It's even worse if your out when it delivery arrives and then have to drive & queue at the distribution centre after 24 hrs. wait.

We'll still do it though 'cause we gotta have them bits eh.

            Have fun, Glyn.
