Hi Neil

started to put all detail on finding it strange trying to identify all parts ,means i have to do alot of cross referencing ,as my knowledge of boat terminology  is poor with the best of will I am determined to get there

never built a slipway trent so wouldn’t know what parts you have, but paul.aka fat controller has made a stunner, so he may be able to help you. neil.

I have converted one of those little RTR ones if its any good……..

 

Its such a shame, they are great models for the price…if only they were a bit bigger…

Hi neil and ashley getting there it takes time to familiarise myself with the parts,the most comprehensive plans are brilliant ,one question to any shipmates out there, is should should I have the flybridge on permanent or loose,and if the latter how do you suggest I fitting it ?

I feel that the “flying Bridge” should be as one with the main superstructure.

 

 If the flying bridge on yours is loose, I can only think that the previous builder might have been building your model to the first prototype Trent ( when called FAB 4 and painted bright yellow and grey hull) as she was the only boat with the flying bridge at the forward end of the main cabin.

I would fix the flybridge into position, on mine its the only safe bit to grip when lifting the cabin off the hull (finger and thumb on each of the stb / port nav lights otherwise I break something) I also motorised the Decca radar head and the motor is hidden inside the main cabin so the bridge had to be attached.
