I bought a "loft find" Billings "Danmark" kit some time ago , with just the hull frame made. I eventually managed to track down and buy a fittings set for it, and to straighten out the warped hull, so I am now ready to start work on it. The kit is clearly very old ( 30 years plus? 40 years plus?) and pre-dates laser-cut or die-cut wooden parts, there are just printed wooden sheets. I have complete drawings showing hull and deck detail and rigging plan, but for the sails all that is supplied is an unmarked sheet of thin cotton so presumably you are meant to take the sail dimensions from the drawings.
The only build instructions seem to have been on one double-sided foolscap sheet with a few photos and tiny printed text in rather odd English. This has unfortunately been partially eaten by the mice that chewed there way into the box ( thankfully they didnt fancy the wood!). There are no coloured photos and the box is illustrated with a painting, not a photo, so the only colour painting instructions seem to be in the remains of the text.
Does anyone have a set of instructions for the "Danmark" kit – of any vintage – that I could borrow and copy? It would be a great help, and a confidence booster before I start work. Any expenses would be reimbursed.
