      Well!……Would you believe this?

The Lake cafe has just installed a WiFi signal at Etherow

So, hopefully, you will be getting a very novel live report on the maiden voyage of the Silver Mist

We are looking forward to this, boys!

        Don't think so, Ray

See the bath test post…….20 lb should do it?

The long lost picture, finally emerges

She's a bit high in the water with only 12 lb of ballast

Had a lovely diesel engine sound, caused by a slightly bent prop shaft

Its a very pretty model Bob and only you could spin a bit of bad news like a bent shaft into a nice diesel sound.

              Did Duckie get any video?

                Thanks Paul

Duckie is preparing the video right now

Decide for yourself, regarding the diesel sound when the video is published

We had a very pleasant sail this morning and was very pleased with the model's appearance and pleasant docile sailing performance

It was great fun, dodging the yachts

The rudder may need increasing in size, for a quicker response

The club members were in raptures when they saw the odd looking motor drive, fan unit and chain drive to the rudder post

But got away with it, since the model was a vintage Vic Smeed creation

Silver Mist was nose down on first launch…….So it was all hands on deck!

                    Which was great fun

You are right about a boat engine! that propshaft clicking sounds like an old single cylinder Lister that I used to own.

Very impressive Bob. Quite a large model which looks very impressive on the water and looks to be in keeping with a scale speed. I am sure you will sort the prop shaft issue, although it does add a sound effect which many would buy an electronic box to re-create.

The propshaft is made up from scrap parts and is of extra length, with a coupling in the middle and a bearing block

The shaft has a slight whip and the bearing block was allowed to flex, as it was not secured

I have since corrected the rattle now

I enjoyed the maiden voyage though
