Back on the job at last

Rubbed down the hull and added the curtain ring port holes on the starboard side

Brass curtain rings were probably the first choice in Vic`s days?

        Hi Paul

Our posts have crossed this morning btw

        How are you these days?

Just made the effort this morning and got summat done at long last

Beginning to notice that the model is getting quite heavy lately

Talking of Xmas pressies……..Bought myself one of those Drone things, this year, with built in TV screen

Should be nice to play with?

All the best, for Christmas old chum……..Bob

          Hi Bob

Its good to see you back in the workshop and I bet Joyce is glad that you are out from under her feet.

I like the green, I always think that a green and cream colour scheme provides a very 1930s effect, and whilst we are talking about green paint you should avoid the stuff from Wilko as it reacts and makes the surface look filled and un-sanded.

Make the most of your new toy as there are rumours that drones will soon be CAA certified and operators will require a licence to fly.

Happy Christmas to you old man and warmest regards to the long suffering Joyce

            Hello Paul

It's only a matter of time now before the Drones are out of fashion!

One of our members flew around the Etherow lake, with a Drone, taking exciting shots of the models in action

Over Christmas and published the action on the club website

A Council official spotted the photos and ordered the photos to be removed!

Drones are forbidden to operate in public places in Stockport

            I'm not surprised really

At weekends especially, the Park is absolutely packed and a Drone accident would have been disastrous publicity for the club

            Such is life, chaps

Hence……..One Unused Drone, going for a song!

              Happy New Year, chaps

Made some progress today…….A nice coat of red on the hull

                Hello Bob

Its good to see you back at work and I like the red paint.

It would be interesting to see which by-law has been invoked by your local council to ban the use of drones.

                  That's a good question

I've already asked the question……..Awaiting a reply with interest

                    Apologies all round chaps

I have the story slightly incorrect

It wasn't the Council banning the pictures, it was a Committe based cancellation……In case the Council got involved

                    Bob

As far as I am aware we still live in a free and democratic society so if the committee had concerns over the use of drones they should have approached the council first and requested guidance before issuing a ban.

Hi Bob A happy New Year to you and yours. To get to Drones ,the CIA rules state that they should not be used in built up areas and should be only used and to fly no farther than 500meters and not above 125 meters .

Its advised when flying to have a spotter for further safety

Must not be used near military sites or public airports

Still people are not obeying the rules .

So to fly we need to join my local flying club [ older flyers will no doubt try to put a stop to it . sadMichael

                        Sorry to go off topic

                          Dear Editor

"CIA rules"? I think we should be told more of this. You can tell the Pentagon that if I catch one of those blighters buzzing around the Pending homestead I'll blast it from the skies with my trusty Browning over-and-under. Can't allow the Yanks or the plebs to spy on the rest of us, don't y'know!

                            Hello Bob,

Very nice to see progress being made on your Silver Mist project — the paint scheme is turning out really well, I think: the cream, green and red create some very pretty contrasts and combine for a really jolly look.

I totally agree with your thoughts there, old chap………. The colour scheme is quite attractive now

                                Hello Ray

Not even taken the Drone out of the box yet

I've had a look at the instructions over Christmas, which look very complicated at the moment

Unfortunately, the entire family has been struck down with the latest Chest Infection Virus!

Lady Joyce has just spent 10 days in Manchester Royal!………Slowly getting better now though

                                Will surprise you all, shortly

                                  Hi Bob

Sorry to hear your good lady is under the weather, but good that she's on the mend Most people down here seem to be struck down with some coughing, virus or feeling rubbish, its the time of year I guess and what makes Britain Great ! You'll soon come to grips with the drone flying as you've flown stuff before it's a bit like trying keeping a marble in the middle of a tin tray

                                  Regards Ray

Sorry to hear about Joyce Bob, sounds like she must have caught it from the Queen. I got it at the end of November and it was 5 weeks before I could get rid of the dreaded coff!

The build is progressing as we speak

I am still working on the hull paintwork, but the cold weather and reluctance to fill the house with paint fumes, is slowing the job down

It's you boat you can do what you want I think the tender/Jolly boat would be green to match the mother ship, just a thought.

That's not a bad suggestion, Banjo

Cream top with a green bottom?

The only snag at the moment……..Is getting a nice line across the Clilnkers!

I could always use a 50 L tub of green paint……..And float it?

                                                      Only joking of course
