      Many thanks, Ray

You were instrumental ln giving me the idea of fitting bilge keels/stand

      Yesterday, it was just an idea…….Today it`s a reality…. "It`s turned out nice again…`an`t it"….(George Formby)

Don`t need to take the stand to the lake now

Well spotted, Colin, but, I could put wheels on the stand, for ease of transport from the car, when required?

          It`s not a daft idea………Thanks, once again!

Getting mail from the Kevin's out there asking for more pictures

Progress is slow at the moment, chaps, due to lack of materials mainly…….Brass for the handrails, port holes, life belts, paint, Jolley Boat etc

There's not much to be added now, but filling and sanding etc

Hoping to get all the stuff from Haydock tomorrow

Think I've decided on the colour scheme now……..Nice green hull, red bottom and cream upper deck

Similar to the Ellie build, a few years ago

              Hi Bob,

The profile shot of Silver Mist looks very good. The vast majorityof these types of boats would have had a light coloured hull, white or off white off set with some bright finished timber- very tasteful!

              All the best,

              Ian

Many thanks Ian and welcome back to the Land of the Living

Thanks for the colour scheme suggestion, but I still fancy the Green Machine décor with a white waterline

What do you think of the show so far?

As with all colour schemes……..Some like it and some vice versa

Bob, I thought I'd try but it's your boat and I would defend to the death your right to paint it whatever colour you want! I just wouldn't do it myself!!! laugh You are obviously fond of this shade of green. Have fun gathering all the bits and pieces for the next stages, which I see you are doing this weekend.

                  All the best,

It's a bit fluorescent Bob, you'll be able to see it well beyond the range of your radio gear even if that is two miles…

                      Ian and Colin

Just like I said……….Some will like it and some won't

It's not the end of the world, chaps……….It can be painted any colour, any time

I've always liked green and cream for some reason

We'll reassess the scheme when it can be viewed from a distance, chugging round Etherow

Painted the rest of the hull, for a better impression of the décor and it still looks ok to me

It`s amazing, the covering power of half a tinlet of Humbrol

Tried to change the colours in Photoshop, but it seems to be out of action at the moment

                        Probably Win10 is the culprit?

Looking nice but that's just my opinion and I am a sucker for these 1930s colour schemes, Not to point out the obvious but I presume that Mr Filler and Mrs Sander will be making an appearance before the next coat?

Now I see the whole thing painted, Bob, it has sort of grown on me! What number Humbrol is it Bob?

Pleased that the unusual colour scheme is becoming more attractive……I've had a few Emails from the Kevin's saying that they like the departure from the norm too etc

Hi Paul……..I agree more filler and sanding is required……Eventually

Handrails are the order of the day……..A shopping trip to Frodsham is planned next week

I can only agree that the colour scheme is both somewhat unusual and rather nice! It will most certainly add to this models uniqueness (in the good sense, I hasten to add).

Are you planning to carry the green up onto the superstructure as well, Bob, or will this be white where it is not varnished wood?

                                  Hello Banjo

Pleased you like my quirky colour scheme

I did try painting the cabin a similar green, but it didn't look nice at all……Imo

                                  See photo

The top section will probably be a cream colour as the other photo

Cream should look really nice up top, and ought to both lighten up the visual aspect of the model and nicely set off the green!

A couple of pix for the avid reader

Added a hull stripe and tried a splash of cream on the cabin………Looking the biz now, chaps?

The advantage of the hull stripes, is that they can be sanded to a white finish for a neat appearance!

For a bit of Bank Holiday fun chaps, I managed to sort out the Photoshop trick of changing colours!

                                        Quite an interesting exercise…

The strange colours are caused by the original colour not being a solid colour

The dark green looks quite nice?

I can't help but wonder why you've painted the model before sanding down all that filler. Is there a particular reason or were you just impatient to see what it would look like?
