36 Mhz is approved for use here in Australia for aircraft, but can also be used for boats. All my radios are on the 36 Mhz band, as they are the ones I used while flying RC aircraft. Most of our club members also use the 36 Mhz band. Any flying fields are a long way from our boat lake, so the risk of “shooting down” an aircraft is virtually non-existent.
Many years ago, I bought a 35 Mhz radio from England, but had it converted to 36 Mhz to comply with the relevant legislation covering the use of radio control equipment.
