      Ashley,

yes concise and to the point also leaves the public to ask further questions . Will be writing mine up tonight.

As a question what are we going to call ourselves? Suggestion:- Bushy Park Floaters?

Floaters…and toilet.. spring to mind (or is it just me??)

we could do with something snazzy or unusual, to suit our many projects?

how about “ the bushy park non-club affiliated gentleman’s water borne craft constructors association”….

Motto “real men get their boats out”

Or is that a bit long?.

Richard and Ashley – what day are you doing the Kempton steam event?

I think its on both days. I was trying to have a conversation with Richard about it on Sunday but sidetracked myself into talking about stationary engines and then never really answered the question he asked me.

I've got to do a car show at Brooklands sunday so that days out really, and got people over on Saturday, otherwise I would have liked to have come to it and could have brought some of my more interesting vessels like the mega-barge or the jet boat.

Sorry Malcolm…just joshing about the tanks!

The word has now gone into the ether, it will happen somewhere soon

At a Blackpool show a few years back we did have a guy with a live water display demonstrating a canal lock. Wet display, but not a lot of water. I don't know if he got a prize for it, but it certainly deserved one. Can't remember if he used one of ours or brought his own table, or if the display was built onto a table top.

When I showed the TopGear 007 sub and sailing Herald, I used blue tinted acrylic sheet supported by plywood "weeds". The sub sat under a sheet and there was a Herald shaped hole in `t other, and this sheet was at the Herald waterline.

Both looked effective although no interest was shown on the days…

I wonder if any of the 1950's USS Natillus shaped "working " subs given away with cornflakes still exist? A display by themselves in a toffee jar filled with water, given enough baking powder.

I am going to the Sandown toy fair on sat week. I will keep a look out!

probably the sort of thing that is very expensive nowadays.

pop pops or solar boats running in a circuit of guttering is a good tabletop display.

                          Hi Ashley, Peter and Trevor,

I have seen my contact at Kempton and told him we will be arriving at 9am, parking will be available close by along with tables for display close to the pond. Tea and coffee will be available but a packed lunch would be a good idea as on a previous visit here they only had cake.

weather looks hopeful so it should be a good day, see you all there.

Nice trip up to London yesterday with Colin to the NMM for a dekko at the SS Millipede Militades Miltadies

liner plans. Again, an experience to handle Waxed Linen plans a hundred years old.

We took a short flight via Emirates airline across the river which is great fun, and what views, including one of a stone passenger ship (unable to find on google?)

Ah ha. Seems to be a real yacht but just made to be a hotel, no engines…if my quick google has it right?

Spent a while yesterday with Trevor pimping his fire~boat. Amazing the difference a few choice items makes to a model.

All set, see some of you in an hour or so.

Well, back from a successful show at Kempton steam museum. Richard, Peter, Trevor and myself as exhibitors, and we amassed a total of some 15 craft of one sort or another tastefully displayed on my shiny sky blue satin cover, or on the side with a large “joli rouge” for someone with two pirate ships

                                  Photos to follow.

There were three boat clubs there but I think we amassed a larger stand than any of them.

Star turn was Trevor’s Dragonfly which performed above expectation in such a confined paddling pool.

Yes and we will spend a lazy Sunday morning today at the pond side!

I will be taking the hover van, 1/3 of the flock (the red one), project Z and of course a lander..likely the ferry. Hopefully there will not be much wind at the pond as the hover van is useless in any breeze and the red one similarly does not perform well in a chop although the main thrust of today’s session will be taking pictures. Project z will handle any sort of chop, eh, Ivan!

Spent some time yesterday fiddling with the masking on the London and re-gluing crewmen back on. The mounting for the esc on/off switch I had made to position it nearer a hatch opening was a success last tues.

i am undecided about making a larger rudder for it, as it does not sail very well with the current (nicely proportioned) one. For it to work properly it would have to be twice the size, and I can’t make it any deeper than it is due to the very shallow keel. I may make one perhaps 1/3 larger and see how it goes.

Reread some dim and distant tb posts and some are very cryptic. I am glad I swapped project designations from numbers to a more identifiable letter system…

Bit breezy today, but the red one was going really well, after having been slow last time? although I had a preprogrammed esc ready in case. Project Z going well, as was the Hovervan, if you call bouncing up and down totally out of control going well. Ferry had an outing as I let a small boy play with it, however the rudder stopped working as we were packing up (?)…nothing obviously wrong…either the receiver channel has gone, the plug has lost contact, or the servo has died…one or `t other.

Peter had a simply outrageous propeller connected to a work in progress boat, a whopper, running in a Kort nozzle. 5 bladed…70?? 80mm 90mm?? Monster.

All connected to a THRUSTMASTER motor (snigger snigger)….yes what a name…
