It’s mega frosty again. Not sure if it’s worth trying today. I have a feeling the ice will be too un-scale to even attempt icebreaking??

        Thoughts please chaps…

At least a couple of inches of ice on the pond so too thick.

Car shoes minus four degrees in the park so had a walk and talk instead of getting the boats out.

A bit brassic. Heavy mist/fog which didn’t lift. Latter half of pond debris free and we mulled over tupping, but if you clouted summat or had a break-down you would be stuck…

Let’s hope, but considering how thick the ice is, unless we have some really nice weather, it will not be unfrozen for Sunday. I will endeavour to recce the pond on Sat.

Handily I broke up a wardrobe at mums and bought the sides back home as I wanted to replace a too-short shelf in the shed. The new bit, at 15 inches wide was just the job and I fitted it this morning. Not exactly warm, but with the radiant heater on (800w), the shed was do-able for40 mins or so.

British heart foundation were due to-collect furniture today from mums but cancelled…likely too cold/van frozen/electric van not enough range+no heater…. Thursday now, but once they collect, the house will be well on the way to being clear.

                    Ashley how cold this morning?.?

It was still frozen slightly on Thursday, had a peek, will bring waders to round up all the debris that has been lobbed on to the ice. Bloody kids!

Bit nippy. Clear pond, no ice. good stuff. Noel popped in. Where is it, we said, like we usually do, but there were some miserable excuses of resin not setting in the cold or some such. one day, the water in the pond will overflow as the 8 foot monster gets launched.

The Bushy park boaters will be holding an open day next Sunday.

In fact, every Sunday is an open day. Be there.

                                Hi Ashley,

What depth of water do you have at Bushy ? I thought I'd bring Veronica my TSB over ? she has a draught of around 12"

                                Regards Ray

Hmmm…in the centre it’s ok, but the edges are a bit iffy. Does it have auxiliary propulsion? Richard is the normal (I say normal, but….) sailor with his galleons, but they do have motors as well, however once out there they manage ok.

Look forward to that Ray. Our recovery rates are very modest……😥.

Richard always has his waders in the car so running aground near the bank is not an issue. There’s depth of water to get away from the jetty into deep water no probs.

It was a bit nippy Sunday and also blustery.

Had the disco boat out but having observed the waves apparently creeping higher over the deck I bought it in to find it full of water. Silly me, as I hadn’t had it out for a while,I had not plugged the two side tubes that support the paddle shaft for the Victorian paddle warship up with blu-tack and the waves were high enough to slosh up and leak n.

Swapped over to the Terrapin, which is a bit more waterproof.

no other mishaps barring a bit of keel-grounding.
