Bit bl###y freezing, but ferry and Trevor’s light bedecked tug AND barge (lights, Christmas tree) performed well.

      Distinct lack of audience.

              Hi Ash,

Do you ever go boating on Fridays ??

I have now reduced to working 4 days a week as I'm officially an OAP

              Regards Ray

Myself, being retired….can do boating Monday, Tuesday and Friday during the week! The other days being occupied.

                The others have varied commitments.

Ferry and disco again tomorrow. Wrap up warm! Gloves a must.

Thought I had something in Jan issue but obv not…Feb and March it must be. Have to spread the dripping thinly on my stale crusts until then!

. Very mild this morning. Christmas/disco boats performing as intended. Capsize on Trevor’s Christmas barge (luckily a tug was on hand) but it was in no danger of actually sinking. Oddly enough as it has holes in the bottom to admit water ballast, it actually gets lighter when on its side?? (It was the massive Christmas tree wot did it, officer).

Richards new “waterborne aircraft” was just that. Reminded me of the Walrus before I had made a few modifications.

Peters Tup held up the Russian end.

And a good time was had by all, before going home to a warming cocoa and a full Sunday roast lunch that our wives had been busy doing (not).

                        Ashley. Ho Ho Ho!🎅

I am afraid boating has finished for me this year as I have just had a positive covid test!!!!

That means self isolating for 10 days and so on. Bugger.

I have a teeny coff, not much, but feel ok otherwise so far. Felt a bit grotty last night but much better this morning. we will see how effacious the two jabs have been.

Such is life. I will have to hide in the shed, heater on, and fiddle with all the boats that need fiddling with!!!

                            Hi Ashley,

Being confined to the shed for 10 days !! I felt rubbish the day after my Booster !! Have you the new exciting variant or the boring old one ??

All the best anyway for a speedy recovery

                            Regards Ray

Good luck Ashley, let us know how you get on. You might have caught it from an old deer at Bushy maybe?

Perhaps your boats should self isolate by disconnecting their batteries.

Hi George. I am doing ok, it has settled down to a cold with a bit of a cough.

Seeing some deers would be fine thing! Being stuck inside for 10days is stressful.

Anyway, a good turnout yesterday at ye old muddy puddle even though it was very misty and cold. Me, Peter and Noel so a broad range of craft keeping the public amused. Took the Jupiter duck seaplane for another test now with flaps on the main wings + a 3s for power, flight was achieved for a split second but not under full control so another rethink, don’t want it stuck in a tree!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all,

Merry Christmas geezers. Not yer normal Christmas. I am on last day of 10 days self isolation, the mrs has Covid, the lad is working 10-5pm, we can’t see my mum who is on her own for Christmas Day….AND we are having a Chinese t/a for dinner as it’s not worth cooking…the mrs being ill and all.

still, tomorrow I can get out for the sales and buy all the things I wanted to buy in the last 10 days!

That's a real shame Ashley, especially for your Mum. Hope your Wife recovers quickly.

No need to wait until next year though. Once you are all OK again in a week or two's time you could have your own personal Christmas. After all, that's what most families do anyway – it'll just be a different day.

Although a very unpleasant experience, he avoided hospitalisation and is recovering slowly.

I have sent him our good wishes and hope that he will be back online when he feels up to it.
