A tin of body filler arrived this morning, guess what I’ve been doing today? All nicely covered now, tomorrow we rub down luckily it’s going to be a dry day so I can give the garden a dusting and myself!

The union flag sticker sheet I have just doesn't have the right size flags on it for the bluebird!!! Will have to see what's about on fleabay.

Bad news, the wife's brother Stewart passed away last week due to cv19, allied with that he was a diabetic and had had a heart attack last year. Bit of a body blow and not what anyone should have to deal with, but these are the times.

Hi. Ashley,I am so sorry to hear of you and your wife’s sad loss. It does bring it closer to home when it is one of ‘us’.

              Best wishes and keep safe.

                  Richard,

nice hull, Laura Ashley would be proud of you! Gives me an idea of how I might be allowed to display a boat on top of a chest of drawers in the bedroom.

Regarding Ashley's hope for the future. I would suggest you just exibit a floating vessel in public. Alternatives might get you excluded from the Forumsmiley

George, boats aren’t allowed in the house, I think that goes for most of us unless your not married!😂

Ashley told me earlier in the week, not the thing you need to have to deal with even in pre virus times. My best wishes to you and your wife.

I am ‘lucky’ in being able to have boats in the house and to be able to build in the dining room, I am not sure that this outweighs being on my own. Having said that I am 150 miles away from home and in lockdown with my friends here in Broadstairs, so I am building out in the shed but I can bring my boat into the house if it is too cold for the glue to set in the shedsmiley.

                                      Keep safe.

Thanks chaps one and all. We had to go to his flat to clear the kitchen and hoover up the all important documents.

As the flat has been vacant for 9 days now, we bought back all the tinned and unopened stuff, and binned the rest, cleared the fridge/freezer . Although he didn't drink, there were about a dozen (now sanitised) unopened bottles of hard liquor (likely presents and so on) amongst them a bottle of JD `Tennessee fire` and Tennessee Honey liqueur`….which we had to rescue….. I had better bet some orange juice to put with it… devildevildevil

Union flags I have do appear after all to be fit for the Bluebird, and the tail is adorned but the nose will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hi. Ray and Gwen, yes it is good to be with friends at this time, and looks like I will be here for at least three or four more weeks, I am building the Zulu drifter that was a free plan in MB back in February.

Boats at home are on hold including Cossack and the IOM and a 58” schooner, I will have to try uploading photos from this I phone.

                                            Regards to you all. Eddie.

Contrary to Rays helpful suggestion of rolled acetate for the exhaust duct, I have used very thin card/thick paper, painted with PVA and then swooshed over with silver spray paint (to replace the rolled up acetate!!)

It is nice and stiff, and easy to do. It locates on the fan cowl at the front , and in the `ole at the stern with a blob of PVA stopping it shifting too much.

All I need is a pair of helmeted heads to adorn the cockpit transparency and the white roundels, and its finished.

(and an opportunity to test it)
