Beautiful sunny bright day, windy but a constant wind, and the Herald was sailing really well. However it was a bit chilly.

Various craft out but must mention Noel’s destroyer which was looking very nice, good job Noel. He has bought a few 20mm, Bofors and a Pom=Pom for it but the rest he has made and we were impressed.

Test floated saucer in our garden pond, and it floats as level as you want and adding the 8cell nimh hardly made any difference. Touching the pump wires to the battery produced significant woodshed, and I don’t think that there will be the massive trim change I have been anticipating.

The rudder servo is in place so I can test it but not sure I have a spare/working brushed esc free. The one I bought is currently in the Bluebird (as temp measure). I do have two mtronics loafing and I think one is duff but the other I think just lost reverse. Will have to fiddle.

"Significant woodshed"?? Looks like the curse of predictive spelling got to this, Ashley.

Predictive spelling is a pain in the arsenal. Can’t see how to turn it of on the mini iPad. I do try and manually correct but always seem to miss a few.

So……….."woodshed" = "woosh" maybe? I'll spare you the usual joke about predictive spelling.

Whoosh. Water wooshed from the pump.

Have found a 50A esc which should be enough for the 5A pump as a temporary measure.

Have been sticking bits of painted perspex and jewels on the saucer top body and it looks quite good and as per what you might think a flying saucer looks like, or not.

may go for a quick test tomorrow morning.

Popping to pond as nice at 10-ish to-test brushed bluebird and saucer hull. Expecting fun and games.

i might meet a slim attractive well built girl at the pond, a right doll.

So. Richard and Barbie. Oh so funny seeing her knees going up and down peddling along. We could see a few tweak's that will be needed but nothing major.

Brushed Bluebird quite good actually, still breezy, so will wait for a windless day before taking the brushed motor out, unless the brushless motor turns up sooner, China, virus and all that.

Saucer…well pleased. Decent amount of oomph, great manoeuvrability…..take me to your leader!

Don't tell Barbie, but somebody has cut the middle out of her boat 😀

This meant to be a humorous comment, not something un-pc about girls on boats 😮

Regards Ray, (my wife has told me to self isolate in the workshop till I run out of glue!!)

Richard has had a top #Barbie advisor working with him on this one (his granddaughter).

Richard is also working on a full set of plans and a detailed build article as he knows everyone will want to build one.

Ray. I like that, self isolating in ‘t shed.

Saucer has a full set of lights now around the rim, and barring varnishing them (to waterproof) and receiving the bumper strip to stick to the edge AND then gluing the top on its almost done.

I have done a build plan. It says “glue

Bits of foam together and shape into a saucer, stick pump in, paint silver and poke some led’s on and furnish with an alien. How hard can it be?

Death ray…yes, need one!! Will think on that.

Meanwhile, I have been out at Weatherspoon's Kingston with ‘the men’ from the band this afternoon (OBVIOUSLY only one pint….if I can Rembrandts corctly) and while I was out being very frugal with my pension (!) I appear to have had delivery of a 3500kv brushless motor for the Bluebird. Wowser wowser how fast is it going to be now on 3s!!

Very fast is the answer, and possibly AS fast as the saucer (warp 10).

                                          EXCITING TIMES AHEAD. …..hic !

I will have to put the 3700kv in the old speed boat to keep my nose in front!!!!!

Yes, it’s quite a speed. Bluebird went suprisingly well n the brushed edf. Have fitted new one now….

Waiting for black closed cell foam sticky strip to ut round the saucer (in anticipation of bumping into stuff), but in Poundland saw some white self adhesive draught exclusion tape, which will be better, as its white. Only 4.5m of it..just about enough.

Went panic buying toilet rolls today (as we only had one left in the house and I was panicking). Supermarkets were bare! All 20 of them I tried…stripped by human locusts. I had to buy 50 baby feeding bottles as that’s all there was left!
