Took the Nelson and a transmitter only on Sunday as went to my band job straight after. Sailed well, but a bit light on the bow (probably has a 9.6 instead of 7.2 batt in it last time) and didn't have any weights with me of course.
Another chap came down with a HUGE double ended, 4-motored tug, and another ordinary type, whose name now escapes me. He talked to us at Easter but illness had prevented him appearing sooner. He has about 12 boats so should be a good addition to the crew if he comes regularly. For those in the know he lives at Morden so not very far away at all.
Have applied some H&S to the big LST and finally fitted galvanised wire railings to the long external walkways, thus making it safer for the crew to run from one end to the other and also providing protection against them being knocked off the boat. Took the opportunity to add yet more men to the craft, including some Airfix 1/32 Series one paras, finally a use for the pose that has them firing up at the sky. Not sure what Airfix was thinking of with this pose, I mean, Germans firing upwards at British paras perhaps, but why would a British para be firing upwards?
Thought about scramble netting on the new railings but couldn't get a convincing look.
