        My name is Nigel Hampson.

I am one of the organisers for an Ocean Liners Exhibition called “The Titanic Experience-The Liners Exhibition” that is taking place at Colne Municipal Hall, on the 30th & 31st May 2009. (Colne is near Burnley In Lancashire)

The Event will be opened by Sheila Dibnah, wife of Ledgendary Steeplejack &TV personality Sir Fred Dibnah.

Unique items from Wallace Hartley Titanic’s orchestra leader will be on show including Wallace’s pocketwatch and this has never before been seen by the public.

The event will showcase the collections of many maritime historians and collectors of Ocean Liner memoribilia from around the country. It will feature original decorative panels from Titanic’s sister ship, the Olympic, along with silverware, crockery, furniture etc etc etc also from Olympic and will also feature numerous items from other White Star Line vessels.

The original Costumes from James Cameron’s movie “Titanic” will also be at the event.

The event will be supporting the Nomadic Preservation Society, which is raising funds to restore the last White Star Line vessel in existence – the SS Nomadic, which carried 142 of Titanic’s 1st Class passengers out to the ill fated vessel at Cherbourg.

This event should be a fascinating experience and we are also looking to loan relevent items for the exhibition. All items would be securely looked after and the wishes of the owners of such items will be totally respected.

If anyone is interested or can help, please do drop me a line or feel free to pass this email/my details on to them.

I hope this is of interest,
        Nigel Hampson

I saw this exhibition when it was at Basingstoke recently. If you are interested in the Titanic and her sister ships then it’s well worth a look.
