I’m still here, Barry. I’m sitting in our caravan in beautiful Hervey Bay, Queensland, about 350km north of Brisbane, and 550km north of where I live.

I can’t say I was surprised by the result, England were far better this time, a massive turn around from the previous test, where we humiliated them in under 3 days. We’ll just have to wait 2 years to reclaim the urn.

I was never confident from the outset of the series, I felt that the selectors made a complete mess of their job, a feeling shared by far more knowledgeable people than me.

Credit where it’s due, though, England are deserved winners, so enjoy it while you can.

        Peter.

          Peter,

Enjoy the holiday and lets look forward to the next meeting…..I totally agree with what you say about the selectors. I reckon they will be getting replaced…..soon.

Cricket Selectors are part of the same paradox as Forum Moderators i.e. who selects/moderates them?? Good job it’s only a game, huh?

(DM ducks into nearest cave to await  retribution from Admiral B…………and Australia!)

              Dave,

I reckon Moderating a Forum can be harder work than picking a cricket team!!

Moderators are Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent so there is no requirement for them to be accountable. They are a force of nature.
And they have a little button which can make your posts invisible to everybody on the Forum except yourself…. Now, that IS fun!

Actually, Moderators are chosen by an exclusive panel of their peers, and have to endure rigorous questioning of their moral, political and social background

They are also paid an exorbitant salary with many  wonderful fringe benefits, including 52 weeks holiday per year, free travel anywhere in their own back yard, and a 50% annual pay rise.

                        Then I woke up
                        Peter.

Well, I’m retired, have a decent pension and a free bus pass – still working on the 50% annual increase though.

Only just back after the second computer crash in a month………Well done England , but the Aussies must be really worried, after all they lost to a rather poor team…

I can’t speak for the rest of Australia Barry, but I know I’m worried.

Colin was a waste of time on both counts…….Computer crashed for the third time and England lost the first one day game to a very ordinary Australia…..I am gutted!!

Never mind,Barry, the one dayers are nowhere near as important as the Ashes……but it’s still nice to win one.
