Thanks for posting Dave, the Type 42s have given good service over the years.

I was in Portsmouth Dockyard today and Dauntless and Dragon were in port. They are huge ships compared to their predecessors.

I think the Type 42s are well past theit sell by date now. What we need is more replacements!

I watched a programme last night about the USS Gravely and can fully understand why ships like our Type 42s are so outdated.

And the Manchester was always breaking down on that Caribbean patrol program..

But, an RN type 42 remains the only warship so far to shoot down an anti ship missile with another missile…in a war scenario., not testing agains drones etc. <silkworm missile i think>
