The Modellers Convention, run by boat modellers for FOR Train modellers.  Or some other unusual combination.  Or as you say, maybe for it’s for everyone.  So we can see trains, and tanks and aeroplanes there on the day can we Peter?

Gosh you realy want People / modelers/ boatmodelers to post on hear , this sort of stupid remark is what stops new people from posting if there every word is going to be scrutinised, I think anybody who has read the thread from the top will know it was a boat Convention.  sorry MODEL BOAT CONVENTION

My dear friends 

No matter how it is presented the Birchwood Convention is, in my very humble opinion, one of the better modelers gatherings for friendly chat and good natured competition.

Since the Convention started at Birchwood I have found that it is the most wonderful way to spend a nice sunny day it the very best of good company.

                                                                                            

and there was even one tank (well amphibious APC) so it qualifies for boat / tank / car but not train and certainly not a plane.

This event is very well worth a visit.

Hi Vinnie

Ah alas   the spell checker wasn’t working and I do like to use the shotgun approach to grammar being as my education tended to the practical and productive.

As for the event its not to far from the executive belt and of course the venue offers free parking, a great cafe area and introductory model sailing for the children, in fact all it lacks is a bar.

But what it does have is an intellectual and cultured following of the modelling elite , I refer to model boaters of course, people who have mastered the fine detail of really intricate model building.

I do hope that you will be able to attend so that you can enjoy the atmosphere for yourself  as it really is a great relaxing day out.

There is no need to be afraid of model boaters we are all harmless and innocent people and besides we live in awe and humble respect of your editorial might (a real avatar among men).

But if you really do suffer from agrophobia then you could always hide behind a cohort of trusted bodyguards, I am sure that we could find somebody………………………..

We could even arrange for an adviser to explain things to you. 

You could always hide behind my considerable bulk as I will be there, I would like to be exibiting this year but that will depend upon my health.

It’s not the ‘Boaters’…..it’s the ‘boats’.  I had an unfortunate experience with an R/C yacht when I was little that has blighted my life ever since.

Is this something like being afraid of spiders or was the technology just to much……

I must say that for a person with a model boat phobia you have a very brave and radical approach to your employment.

Anyway if we provide some Valium (or malt whisky) could you be persuaded to attend, you could always write an in-depth report with pickies and post it on the site before Paul can publish one in the magazine, or do Editors get reportors to do that?????

Perhaps I should not put you on the spot like this but I know that you would really have a nice day (you could always wear a disguise and we could play spot the Vinnie)

Plenty of grass for the dog to "stretch its legs" and some areas of shade for the van to keep your good lady cool whilst you come and play with the rest of us.
