Just noticed that Berth 24 is being repeated on talking pictures tv channel on Friday the 20th August at 09:15hrs.

Best to set the video recorder for this one.

It's about the steamer S.S. Bravo arriving in Hull from Gothenburg and lasts about 40mins.

There are quite a few of these 'shorts' lasting minutes (from 4 to 15) on this channel and are quite often titled 'Glimpses' and cover things from say Kent in the 1950s to road safety in the 60s. Railways and steam fairs, as well as London, Chester, Blackpool, even the History of Rover (Cars).

I record them and watch them at my leisure. Its surprising what you can get from these shorts.

1957 The Apollon, Newcastle. (7min) Shows a tug the Quaysider towing the cargo ship then doing a causality evacuation, simulated for the camera I think.
