        Hi,

Has anyone used these. They are advertised as being smooth running(i'm aware that alignment is the most important thing?

        Thanks

Certainly look the biz for boats like tugs. I bet the bigger diameter ones are heavy though! Of course useful as ballast in models of that type. Reasonable price as well.

Hi Neil, compared to standard shafts, they are a bit heavy .but in a tug boat that is not a problem, cause you want reliability ,i put a mixture of thin oil an grease on mine and it runs for the sailing year then i remove it, clean it re grease and refit for the next year .hope this helps you .regards sammyk

Bought a couple of the heavy duty ones in the end and I'm not disappointed. Inners are very straight. Threads seemed a bit tight but that was easy to fix. Nice bit of kit at a very good price.
