      Hello Everyone.

I'm posting this thread on behalf of my Dad.

He's looking for a 4 channel 2.4GHz TX/Rx kit. I've had a look online and most multi channel transmitters have the first 4 channels controlled by the joysticks.

He'd like the transmitter to have only 1 axis movement on the joysticks on the transmitter (i.e Y axis on the left, X on the right) with the other 2 channels controlled by simple separate switches to operate additional functions such as sound.

Can anybody recommend a kit with this functionality, preferably with a full range signal?

      Many thanks,

      Paul.

I don't think that such a beast exists. R/C gear is made almost exclusively for the model aircraft/helicopter/drone markets, all of which demand two dual-axis sticks. There are one or two sets intended for model trucks but even they have this basic arrangement. The 'spare' functions can be used to operate electronics switches in the model. Here's one UK-made range **LINK**

With the way that production economics work, it would probably cost more to produce a multi function set with single axis sticks for a very much minority market. Modern economics start with the real mass market, and that wants two twin axis sticks, so it has become that the present day base line is a pair of two axis sticks, the most other stuff on higher channels being either switches, or sometimes rotary controls.

Thanks for your replies. I guess a little manual dexterity will be needed when activating channels 3 and 4!

                Paul.

Or buy a 6 channel set with the 2 extra channels on switches for your additional functions. You can buy a 6 channel for not much more than a 4 channel.

The good, basic 6 channel sets are no longer vastly more expensive than good basic 4 channel sets. Just a case of not plugging anything into the unwanted channels. And then finding something to use them for.
