I have been given an old fibreglass sailing boat circa 1970/80, possible a French kit – Saudara? Any info available. (Goggle + Saudara = nothing). The sails look very small.
The hull is now refurbished and it’s time for the standing rigging. All I have is a rusty piece of rear stay 0.55mm thick.
Lenght overall – 1.12m Beam – 255mm Draught – 240mm
Mast height – 1.5m Xtrees height – 810mm Spreaders – 190mm
Fore stay – 1.52m Rear stay – 1.59m Top shrouds – 1.50m Lower shrouds – 820mm (9.3m total)
Mast Head fitting – Why are there three holes? 1 for sail halyard and 1 for stay ok
Mast Foot fitting – Single rear lug for kicking strap ok, what’s the front one for? The two side have three holes, what’s there use?
Hole diameters:- Mast head Shrouds = 1.5 & Stays/halyards = 2.0 Mast base = 1.5 Xtrees Shroulds = 1.6 & Spreaders = 1.0
What deck fittings should be used as the mast will have to be removable?
What wire size and material?
How do you attach the shrouds, stays and sails to the mast?
Where can I buy the components?
Any help most welcome – Pictures?
