Mr Abell,

Perhaps you can explain to me why it is considered satesfactory, or apparently in some cases essencial, for people to respond to a enquiry on this site with a “joke”?

Had this “humourous” posting had anything to contribute to the question raised, then it might have had value.

As a newcomer to this site, I found it quite insulting to have what I thought was a valid question to be treated in this fashion by someone who has never met me.

I do not believe you would expect people to behave like this when in a “face to face” situation, perhaps this site encourages such tactless and insensitive behaviour?

Can I suggest that the humourous clique on this site reserve their humour for between themselves otherwise they may well drive others away. Or, is that their plan?

I think this discussion has gone far enough now. I have explained why there isn’t a spellchecker currently built into the Forum and David and Alison have kindly offered practical suggestions to remedy the deficiency.

 

It takes time for new members to get a feel for the atmosphere on any forum and comments intended to be humorous may not always have the desired result, especially if they do not actually address the question being asked.

 

ArneS, I am sorry if things have got off on the wrong foot but we are actually a very friendly crowd on here and you are most welcome to join us. If you have any questions on model boating we shall be pleased to help and if you would like to share your own work with us we will be most interested to see it.
