      Hi Everybody,

Don't know where this one will go, but hopefully in a positive helpful direction!

We all have posting problems from how to do it first time to how keep thing sequential with text and multiple pictures.

Colin our Moderator can't help a great deal. His job is to overview that what we put in, not redesign the system. We have to sort out the logic of this site for ourselves and the more input the better.

For background read Bob Abel's 'Irrelevant Question' thread.

Here's my own first input 'THE SPELL IS AMERICAN'. Knowing this keeps you sane in old age when you suspect your memory!

      What do you all Know?

          Hi Everybody,

Some success and a failure! On my last post I typed text first and then uploaded three pictures. The success was getting the pictures in sequential order. It appears they must be uploaded in reverse order . The failure was in the position of the pictures relative to the text. For whatever reason, the system put 2 pictures in advance of the text and one after the text! There must be a logic to it somewhere………….?

            Hi Len,

As far as I am aware the secret to putting the pictures in the right place is just dependent on where you put the cursor.

Type in your text, press the enter key so that the cursor is at the start of the next line and then upload your first picture.

Then put the cursor just to the right of the bottom right hand corner of the picture and left click on your mouse which put the cursor just outside the edge of the picture. Press enter and the cursor is moved to the start of the next line. Type in your next lot of text or put in your next picture……and so on.

I can only say that my set up, compared to about 12 months ago is crackers!

Can`t post any words after a posting a photo!

Len, Hi, as Gareth says, like this. (hit return)

(click insert image from album (camera icon))

                  boltroping.jpg

(cursor to right hand edge of inserted image and click return)

                  Add some more text etc

(Now add another image using camera icon)

                  sailnaming copy 2.jpg

(click cursor to edge of second image and click return)

Ha, I note that when the second image inserts, the cursor then defaults to the front line of the first image, so ensure to move the cursor to the right of the last image inserted, and then click return for a new line of text, or another image insert.

                  dsc05486 copy.jpg

This is tomorrow's straight runner for our sports day by the way.

                  Hope this helps Len, Kimmo.

And using the edit button lets you back into your post, like this, and you can then "move" your images about if they're in the wrong place, by highlighting them and dragging to where you want them.

I always enlarge this text box view by dragging the bottom down, hence displaying a whole page of text and images.

                      Hi Everybody,

Brilliant posts! Outstanding input! I believe you've raised the quality of posts on this site by a quantum leap! There is light at the end of the tunnel! Can't wait to have a go! Sorry for all the exclamation marks but I believe months of frustration have just been eradicated!

Probably need to focus on Bob A's problem now. Why can't he post any words after posting a picture? Is it Bob's screen where the cursor is there but he can't see it or is it the MB site system?

                      Thanks again everybody,

                      Len.

P.S. Nice boat Kimmo (love the arrow / off switch, says it all)!

Just read the latest addition you made to the Resurgam thread and 10/10 Len and a gold star for perseverance.

Simple when you get the hang of it, isn't it? And before you ask, there is no simpler way that I can see, just a matter of self learning the system. That's how we all get the knowledge, knowing it is possible because someone else can do it!

                          Kimmo

                            Dear Kimmo,

Thanks for for that. With your and everyone else's help I am now a 'professional' poster! Stilll have some niggles with this site and will explain the problems when I can do so in detail and clarity. No doubt once again, a chap like yourself will come along and say just do this and that and the job is sorted! It is always easy when you have the knowledge, but 'self learning' can be a real off putter. All we want to do is build model boats and communicate, not battle a computer system.

This thread (and indeed thanks to your input) is proving its worth. It will be a manual by the time it dies!

When you posta reply you will see a globe with what looks like a chain link, above your posting , 2 to the left from the you tube link, copy think link you wish to posy and then press the link Icon, paste your copied link where it says url. and then ok it, post your thread and it should be there.

Sorry for any confusion, I thought I"d give this link thing a try. I remembered my friend Lynn, (who used to post on the RCME model aircraft forum) said they had a very helpful "how to" forum. They use the same system as this forum. I thought I'd try to post a link to it, so we could all easily find answers to our posting questions. Just click on my 'try this" link in my above post, and you will get instructions for posting links.( You should be able to access all the other posting instructions from that link)
