      Hi I am new to not only this forum but this whole topic. My wifes uncle has just sadly passed away. He was an ex sailor and his house is full of model ships and boats. We would like some ideas of what to do with them, they look very impressive and hours of care and hard work has gone into building them.

          HI Anrthony, I am not an expert! But I have an idea of values, maybe at least if you get a few replies you will get an average figure at least, would probably need pictures as the liklihood is you are miles away (from me) could be interested in buying as well

            Anthony. I think the requirement will be;

            Pictures, measurements and description..ie static or radio controlled and possibly what machinery/electrics are fitted,,,motors, batteries/electronics etc (if any).

              hi, i have been selling models at Christies since 1988 until recently when they stopped selling………unfortunately the market for even good model ships has dropped through the floor………….where you would once get £1000- 1500 for even a well made kit you are now lucky to clear £300 – 400, and ebay is even worse.
              depending on what you have………….post some photos in the gallery, i could give you a good insite as to what you might expect to get.
              sadly though, fully rigged ships fair even worse, as no one wants to dust them, you can’t sail them, and they tend to look worse after beinbg around for a while without cases.
              neil.
