Hi Bob yes it is on Google earth but it only shows the Landfall as it was not as it is now , at least that's all that I could find. .

Cheers and as usual thanks for taking interest in pictures on my walks

A windy corner , not much activity today yet a pleasant walk but perhaps not so pleasant out in the bay . or the river for that matter.

Hi Larry good to hear from you . Oh yes must get a few shots of LCT 7074 as a full hull. The transfer to Portsmouth is I believe in the next few weeks. Should be an interesting lift !

            Thanks for showing interest.

Something different, can see this becoming another popular thread.

Hi Larry thanks for kind comments. The bay and the Mersey are always busy and getting more so plenty to point the camera at whilst I'm just enjoying a bit of exercise , more for fun than a serious study of the traffic. There are some seriously interesting ships around which makes me take notice and enough of the grey line to keep me well and truly occupied this weekend included.Hopefully if the weather isn't to foul I can do a little bit more of my regular beach combing .

Thanks for showing interest thumbs up

All quiet as the high tides are all early morning and late in the evening , non the less I have a few others which where taken during previous beach walks . The Bay in October with its autumn changes can be spectacular with the really high tides some of the highest in the UK and fresh westerly winds which are forecast for tomorrow but not always ideal for beach walks .

This one really does give the impression of being a little to close for comfort at least for the tug

Hi Cookie thanks for those kind words . I always try to take a camera on my walks as you don't always know what's out there and of course it all depends on the tides. Some of the most interesting vessels are not always the big ones.

                    Thanks for showing interest

This October storms which are quite normal for the Irish Sea at this time of year hit the Mersey in the early hours and to see it at it wildest I made my usual walk a little bit earlier at New Brighton . There was no traffic except for the Stena line ferry to Belfast which sails in any weather but even this had to be helped clear the terminal at Birkenhead . Others like a coastal tanker where being held to in the river waiting for the storm to abate before venturing out into the channel which backed by a high seasonal tide of 10meters and a full on westerly blow made for really tricky conditions .Yet to watch the storm from a safe vantage point on the beach is what you could call exhilarating providing you can stand up .

With a little bit of help even in the shelter of the river

                        Hi Dave

Your photos are always a source of information and inspiration but should you really be out in a storm such as we have had today, I doubt that even the Perch Chippy would be a safe haven in such bad weather.

Hi Paul thanks for your concern and I guess the real answer would be no . But I only go where it is safe to be . It may look that I'm sharing the sea with the fish but in truth I'm at a safe distance and I'm only five 5minutes to my front door or in this blow 10 minutes is your facing the wind head on.

                          Thanks for taking interest

Not that good for taking photos , dull and wet . But I have two pictures that were shot some weeks ago .The first Red7 Tonjer is a regular visitor to the Mersey operating as one of a number of support vessels for the off shore wind industry . As can be seen this is a complex ship and last year I had a chance to see what this ship was about being in the middle of the Liverpool bay wind farm , it was impressive some picture will be posted on that latter .For now and as a contrast to all those small service craft this at 3349 ton is a little bit bigger.

Once again another dull overcast day ,definitely not compatible with clear image pictures . Non the less coming out of the dock at high tide was the attractive Ro-Ro European Endeavour bound for Dublin , no tugs needed today .

Hi Larry yes there is limited access but you can't stay in it. When the tides out you can walk across but the tide when it starts to turn is fast flowing and it's easy to get cut off , from access to isolation is in minutes as this picture shows and this is on a calm day . The tide heights vary quite considerably but March and October months usually provide the highest tides.

Caught on the horizon , steam gives way to sail . The sail ship training Stavros S Niarchos enters the channel.

My afternoon walk took me to Seacome ferry , as I wanted to get a shot of Polar King and Polar Prince side by side at the Liverpool liner terminal. But one of the regular container ships Jana bound for Dublin caught my eye leaving the river , nothing strange there except an unusually large number of containers stacked up to the sky , or to be more precise just under the bridge. All looked very precarious . Well judge for your self.

No walk today but on yesterday's walk I did manage get some shots of UKD Orca a 3087ton trailing suction dredger. 78m in length by 15.85m in beam .An interesting vessel . All of these shots are taken in the space of 30minutes but it's getting the timing right and a little bit help of AIS.
