I am selling the review model as featured in the latest Model Boats Special. It will go as seen i.e. with full radio, running gear etc. If you are interested please PM me and we can sort out a price etc. If unsold after a couple of weeks it will go into the magazine classifieds.

I don't believe that nobody has shown any intrest in this super little model.

If I had some spare cash would £100 buy the boat (I wouldn't need the radio kit)

Certainly would – with change. I'm selling the bare model (with running gear, motor, steering servo) for £70 and the fully-fitted model for £150.

Joking you must be….a ready to sail classic wooden model boat is cheap at £150 never mind one having its own article in the Model Boat Special

I know that being built by you might reduce its value a little wink but its still a bargain.

                Paul

Would you consider some kind of hire purchase agreement.

Sorry to butt in but – fantastic value! I bought the Model Boats Special in Smiths today and that was the first article I read- and thoroughly enjoyed. Congratulations to all contributors and especially to Colin.

Yes, Paul. Our famous easy-payment scheme is applicable. For a mere 50% deposit and the balance payable now this model can be yours! Ignore the fact that the kit plus glues and paints as used would cost at least £80 more than the asking price. Some folk can't see a bargain, it seems.

I enjoyed Daves article as well, he writes so poetically that his words evoke images of Victorian England its almost as though the reader is there with Dave as he travels to London on the newly invented steam train. Following the story we Gasp in wonder as he falsifies his official expenses and fearing for freedom especially as if he was found out he could have been deported to Fosters Land.

You know not how close you are, but the Aussie connection is another story entirely (and involves a guitar)

I've heard of many thing being smuggled through customs but a guitar……that would make your eyes water.

Strewth! (my contribution to the antipodean angle).

I think that the boat is reasonably priced to sell, lets face it, you do not get the sum total (incl time and so on) of a build back on anything. Would we see it selling for £300 or £400?? not likely.

I have yet to sell anything, but I can realistically guess what they would be worth, unfortunately.

                                Hi Dave

On the set up with the Battery and motor as built, what sort of running time are you getting. ?.

Just thinking that this would be a nice model to have within our club to use as a Kids have a go model as the ones we currently have are getting a bit tired as when we have shows the have ago proves very popular !!

I ran the model for 20 minutes, mainly at full throttle, and there was hardly any difference in speed afterwards. The motor draws about half an amp under load, flat out, and the NiMH pack is 2.6AH. The maths says five hours running but I'd just say at least four. As I said in the article it would be ideal for kids as it's pretty sturdy and slow/manouverable enough to prevent getting into trouble quickly.
                                  I am going to Haydock………wink
