SD14 Card Model

Has anyone built an SD14, if so please advise on the best adhesive to use for building card models of this size, model will be built as static so waterproofing is not an issue, thanks.

hi Mike,

if you look through the gallery you will find the SD14 that my father is building. although it has been converted to r/c it is still essentially a card structure – except for skinning the hull and deck in equivalent thickness ply to the card.

for all the card elements he used ‘all purpose’ glue. i cannot remember if it is bostick or some other but it comes in a pink/purple tube in a blister pack and can be obtained from focus diy or office world stores.  we bought ours in bulk boxes of 20 tubes at a time and have used over 80 tubes……………………….

Thanks very much for the info, I know the glue you mean, I think it is Bostick. Will post some photos on site as work progresses.

hi Mike,

update on the glue used – it was Loctite……..  smelly stuff, but it doesnt ‘string’ like other glues and because of the small nozzle is very controllable….
