I am in the process of rigging my one metre yacht but am wanting to be able to de-rig it for transport . On deck there are two 2 hole securing (cleats) id call them so I need something that will clip into these and take up the forsail line and the rear stern line.. Ive looked at still hooks but seem rather crude ny suggestions would be totally welcome. Barrie (newbie to sail)

Take a look at 'PJ Sails' **LINK**

On the left is a list of catagories, select 'Rig Fittings' & the top item will be PW 8c this is what most 1metre sailors are using on pleasure boats.

On the end you can't see in the pic, the wire forms a hook.

…..and lurking at the bottom of the "deck fittings" page is PW8j, a detachable turnbuckle, but using that will probably depend on the particular eyebolt being used.

Is the mast deck stepped or plugged into a fitting that goes deep into the hull? A deck stepped mast has different requirements to a keel stepped one because the forces going through it are much greater. I have a tendency to use stainless wire staples for that particular job.  Some like chain plates, either brass angle with a row of holes for the rigging hook and screwed to the deck, or a flat plate screwed to the hull side with much the same effect.
