As a child, I always wanted to build an E-Boat, after seeing pictures of them in Lion & Tiger comics. They looked so powerful and full of menace (to a Child) compared with the British & American MTB's. My first boat build was back in the 60's, a Kiel Kraft Balsa Terrier MTB

Going in the opposite size direction, thought you might like to see some 10 3/4" MTBs – **LINK**

And the plans for your first boat are available for free here…

WOW thanks for that, might give this a try when I have time.

              Thank you.

                Hello All !

An introduction is in order. I am in the States and have just been bitten by the Boat Bug. Retired as a college Chemistry Teacher, I've returned to one of my early ( since the early 1960's ) fun challenges- RC vehicles. Back then, I mostly flew trainer planes. These days, besides planes, Multirotor Drones, and robotic electric trucks, I am beginning to find ways to "fill holes in the water with money". My first kit is ordered but have not started building Her yet ( photos to come in a few months ). Boat is a Will Lesh kit:

My woodworking skills are poor so it will be a long time before I can build from plans and or design my own Boats. I also picked up a cheap plastic powerboat to use a tug to help maneuver my T37 around:

                **LINK**

The people at the American Model Yachting Association have been very kind and helpful considering the plethora of silly questions I've had.

I found an old sewing machine table with that big hole for the machine in the top. Plans call for building an at-home boat stand to show off my Boat and to make it easier to work on Her. Since the top has that large hole in it, a modified board that incorporates a boat stand / cradle is in order. Again, photos will be forthcoming once I get the table repaired and refinished. I found an adhesive called BONDIC that I can not only apply wet, but can actually apply it while totally under water:

                **LINK**

Lastly, I was able to pick up at a science surplus store a tube of DOW CORNING HIGH VACUUM GREASE. Does anyone have experience using this stuff ? I found it very helpful back when I was building vacuum and gas handling systems for lasers. I think it should be OK to use this stuff on fresh and salt water boat gaskets and seals. Anyone have thoughts on this stuff ?

                Thanks for reading.

Having really enjoyed the build with the S-100, I have jumped in at the deep end, and bought the latest release from Italeri.

                  1/35 S38 early version.

Currently collecting various bits and pieces for the build, which will another R/C conversion.

                        Ha Ha, thank you

Unfortunately a problem with the electrics cut the voyage short.

When turning the mixer wasn't operating properly, and instead of just slowing

down the inboard prop, it was stopping altogether.

Then I found she would go faster astern than forward.

I also found the U/J on one of the outer props was lightly loose, so it wasn't transmitting

                        full power to the prop.

All corrected now (fingers crossed) just need a suitable day to go back to the lake.

Made a few alterations, including removing the geared motors, and replacing with higher revving ones.

I was pleasantly surprised when activating the Lurssen Efekt, the hull had a definite attitude change in relation to the surface.

Having achieved al I set out to do, she's moving on to a new owner, + plus I need the space and funds to carry on with my other projects.
