      hello everyone,I’m in ireland some 2 hours away from everything(model shops0 and was hoping to find a balsa wood ready made superstructure,modern -destroyer for my 1,5 xm x 25cm destroyer,twin 800 rpm torpedo motors,running off 12 volt battery and viper truck speed controller(mtroniks)Will pay for readymade structure…

        Steve . I think the chaps will want to know a bit more about your hull before advising on availability (or offering to build something !) like…. what class or type of ship is it, what style of superstructure did you want, ie true scale or standoff or even similar-to? any chance of a picture? I am not sure ready made tops exist, but you never know!  Ashley

          its a standoff,perhaps I want to make it a uss churchill and arleigh burke class.combine,,,skys the limit..i built on an exisiting israeli saar 4,5 hull it slopes towards the back -just slightly…I want a piec at rer for seaking….though…

              Try lowering the resolution of the picture,this can be done with your photo editing software

                  Steve. You dont have to use balsa you know. Card is often used, or a composite board like foam-backed card, or sandwich card from an art shop will serve just as well. The beauty of a modern warship, especially to stand off scale is that the superstructures are very "boxy" and thus dead easy to construct. Foam board especially would be good for this as it is dead easy to cut, very stiff and very light. Do we take it you have a deck already fitted or not?? this would need to be ply really, or thickish plasticard.. Again an art shop may have this.   Ashley
