radio set frequency conversions

I was given the other day 4 brand new never used but old radio sets, 2 hitec ranger and 2 futaba attack radios by the widow of an old friend who passed over a few months ago…..he was a merchant sea captain based out of San Diego and San Francisco for many years, and it would seem that he bought all these sets in the USA as they are all on 75mhz system and 3 are 2 channel sets……….illegal to use in this country as such. I wish to sell them in aid of the RNLI but would like to keep the 1x 4 channel Futaba Attack…….and have it converted. someone on another forum said that a Radio HAM would have no problem in being able to retune this set to 40mhz. could anyone verify this for me before I go knocking on peoples doors with big masts in their gardens. many thanks for any advice and help. cheers, neil.

Hi Neil,

Beware of spending more money in postage etc than the Attack is worth which was a budget pre computer set back then !
