Yep.  Give Paul a ring at Little-Cars.  He stocks it.

Halloooo and excuse me but I paid a load of money to get the October November, and December Model Boats Magazine just to get the Glen Rosa article and nothing else.  I paid over $30.00 Canadian and I had to wait till mid November to get it the October issue!  And now I see you published the the identical article WORD for WORD on October 28, one month before I received my copy here in Canada.

Do you have authority to republish this on the net.  Are you affiliated with Model Boats Magazine?

              Halllooooo….

Sometimes it will rarely happen that readers in far flung parts occassionally will see the odd article reach the website before they recieve their magazine.   We aplogogise most profously.

No, we’re not affiliated with Model Boats Magazine, we ARE Model Boats magazine.  Take a look down the bottom of the site and browse around a bit…..

Ok Vinnie..thanks for your reply, but that’s still pretty unsatisfactory.  What you’re saying is that you (Model Boats Boats Mag) officially published this web copy of an important lead article less than a month after original publication.   I don’t know where you learned your geography, but I’d hardly agree that Canada and the US are "far flung parts".  We don’t get our copies until 5-6 weeks after the publication date and even then it’s by special order. My October 2007 issue was special ordered and didn’t arrive until November 25. My December copy will be arriving next week I’m told.  Surely you people must be aware of this!  The cost of the magazine over here is double what you pay in the UK and no complaints when a first class series appears.  I’m still very unhappy about this and,  while you seem to have an "official" status of the magazine, I’d like to get the editor’s take on this and some assurance this won’t happen again. Do you propose publishing the rest of the 5 part article on the net in which case the $60.00 I will have paid to get the series will have been a complete waste.

                  Paul,

Which articles to publish on the website is a joint decision between Paul Freshney the magazine editor and myself.  Not all articles appearing in the magazine will of course be published on the web.  Only a selection will.  In this instance, since that was the particular article you were interested in, then of course you were upset to see it published so soon.  It could have been the same with other articles that other people were interested in.

I can assure you I will NOT publish all five parts of the full article.

Thanks Vinnie…enough said then..do you have any objection to me copying your replies on the Paddleducks website which reaches more than 600 model paddler enthusiasts worldwide? The Albion/Glen Rosa article has been well publicized there and I suspect many, just like me who bought the mag just for this paddler article,  will probably want to know that the other  4 parts of the article will not appear on the net.

                    Regards

But I agree with Paul that Canada is not far flung certainly not as far as Runcorn (which as we all know is the end of the earth)

Paul, I often have to send parcels to Canada as part of my ‘other’ job. Believe me, as far as Canada Post goes, it’s even further than the ends of the Earth…. Parcels have to be marked in certain ways, with certain things. Presumably so they can lose them more easily.
