          Hi Steve,
I’m not realy clear about what’s wrong but I’ll have a shot at helping. I presume you’ve already fitted the bottom skins, after that fitting the side skins should be strait forward. They should overlap the chines and lay across each bulhead and the correct curves should follow from that., After the glue has dried it’s just a matter of trimming and sanding, The sharp angle you get between the two towards the stern flares toward a much smoother join at the bow.
I’m not sure if any of that helps, jobs like this seem simple when you have done them but can be a bit af a mystery when done for the first time.
Please post again and let us know how you are getting on.

It is a bit of a bodge as you can’t bend 1/16″ marine ply around a compound curve. You have two choices:
            1. Put up with a “crease” in the side skin; or
            2. Stop the ply skin at bulkhead 5 and then use double-diagonal planking to effect the double-curve up as far as the bow blocks. You will probably need to add another bulkhead halfway along and certainly one or two stringers to support the planking.
Have a look to see how my mate Bluebird describes this style of planking here http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9758.0

Hi, Thanks Charlie & Dave for your advice, i have just removed the section of side skin between bulkhead 5 forward and installed an extra bulkhead and stringers. I have used 0.8 ply stripped to 10mm wide so far seems to be working ok, will try to post a few photos when i finnish all planking. Thanks again Steve.
