The Cigarette is progressing slowly, brush painting as it's not that warm!! Found a willing driver in the charity shop, have used depron for the cushioning round the cockpit, she's looking fast, we will see in a few weeks time 😀
That was my original intention, but the outdrives scale positions are so close together it would be a right fiddle, so keeping it simple with a conventional rudder, I'm tempted to build a slightly bigger version at some stage 😀 hand painting the name on the topsides will be the next challenge !! Your Walrus looks great 😉
Walrus is nice and clean. Was too windy to perform Sunday. Rear elevators seem to be set upwards too much but that was what appeared to work best on a calm day…we will see,#
Pic on my album.
Yes, they do look very close together the out drives.
This another part of the build I wasn't looking forward to ! the name is such a feature, being sign painted on the full-size boat, thought I'd have a go 😀 photograph enlarged on the copier and the print spray mounted onto card to make a stencil for the lettering, cut out with a scalpel and drawn on the hull with a pencil and filled in with a fine brush & Humbrol enamel. The letters need to be shaded red on one side, but I think I got away with it 😯 ?
Hi. Ray, you certainly have 'got away with it' what a suberb job, if there were any mistakes the camera would have shown them up, and what a beutiful boat and a such a quick build.
99% Complete ready for the Chantry mbc AGM on Saturday where we can show off our new projects, really pleased with this one, I hope it goes as fast as it looks 😀
