                  Could it be one of DM's designs? Two words – starts with a F ends in a y , starts with a H ends with a n.

Received my December Issue just before Christmas – nice plan you produced Ray …………

                  Cant be a WM as that's not a deep V ,,,,,,,,,,,

                    Thanks Peter,

White Marlin is one my favourites, no not one of DM's designs.

                    Really fast 😀 back then.

                              Hi Ray

No progress over the last few weeks unfortunately due to the work I've been doing to the bedrooms and landing. Carpets and furniture booked over the next couple of weeks after which I will be able to get back into my work room again. Can't wait.

                                Happy New year All,

Well some had guessed, here she is 😀 in my view if a boat can be sexy? This is the one. Difficult to find a picture of her actually in the water and not flying, with the legendary racer Don Aronow at the helm of "The Cigarette"

the boat is actually a Cary 32, pre-dating Don's range of power boats with the same brand name.

Hollywood, film Speed Kills released last year starring John Travolta panned by the critic's but If you like your fast boats is a must to see, currently on Netflix, but I will be buying the DVD for reference 😀

                                Now for those sprayrails !!!

                                All the best for 2020

                                    Hi Ray

All looks good BUT do consider putting a triangular support between the prop tube and keel. Any small imbalance in the driveline can create one helluva whip in that tube. I didn't believe a hollow tube of that diameter could wobble that much until I shoved the power of a brushless motor down it. After all, you won't see it once the model is in the water.

That's good advice, I will put some ply in to support the tube It's only going to have a re-cycled brushed 600 at this stage, but at only 26" long it should go fast alright

As the Mercury outdrives are such a feature, I have fabricated a couple of dummy legs, minus props & skegs. Painting next, looking for 3 crew/drivers, Harry Potter slightly too tall 😮

                                                Hi Dave,

They look just the job 😀 will be worth the investment, but I still search the charity shops for bargains 😎

Been looking online for the right color of the topsides, fairly sure they are black? Rather concerned they maybe dark blue?I

Now I'm thinking they are dark blue, with the red & white?

                                                      Hi Ray

I am visiting from cyberspace and hope to have normal service resumed when my computer gets back from a warranty repair.

Great subject from a great era. Can you remember a powerboat called Translucent. It was GRP but with a clear gelcoat. You could see the engines and other bits from outside. Presumably you could also see the water rushing by from inside – scary.

                                                      Tim R (2)!
