      Hi Andy,

Is there by any chance a way of showing the number of views each thread has had ? It was a good way of seeing if anyone was interested and just looking at the posts without commenting.

      Many Thanks

      Ray

        Hi Ray,

This has been asked previously by Bob Wilson and it appears that the facility isn’t supported.

It’s like the magazine Ray, you put your heart and soul into your carefully crafted and amazing article but get virtually no feedback.

Best way to see if there is anyone out there is to post something controversial and then they all come out of the woodwork and jump down your throat!

A feature of forums is that only a fraction of users actually post anything and not very many people respond.

That doesn’t mean it is not worth posting/writing articles though. Your own designs seem to have a relatively high public approval rate which is unusual.

On the old forum, when I used to put up the next issue information, there were immediately 20+ views.

Finally I seem able to read up to date posts and even post here.

As previously explained for security reasons my browser deletes all cookies etc whenever it is closed so i always start not logged in.

This appears to be an answer of sorts.

              1. When I link to the site the posting list is always way out of date so ignore it (including the advert for last months magazine).

              2. Log in & then do as it demands and log in again!!!!

              3. Click on any thread – i use Ashly’s as it is fairly busy. This brings up the latest posts (and pages) of the thread that didn’t appear to exist when i opened the thread.

              4. This process updates the thread/ posting list and even lets me post this (including the advert for this months magazine).

              5. Repeat for every thread that interests me although I caanot find new threads.

              5. Repeat the whole process next time I visit including initially being shown a historic posting list which update occasionally.

I have no idea why, not exactly user friendly and unique to this site but it does, sort of, appear to work.

              .

                Thanks Colin,

We only do the articles for the glory don’t we 🙂

My choice of designs to produce as models is based on 60 years of following the form with Model Maker, Radio Modeller (which had boats) and Model Boats, I still have a few up my sleeve which haven’t been done yet.

It’s such a shame that the free plans arn’t passed onto SARIK like the old days of MAP, Mytime Media so the last 5 – 6 years worth of free plans are available to purchase ? perhaps a sign of the times.

                Kind Regards Ray

Yes, restricting the publication to one issue presumably avoids the need to pay the contributor more to reflect future profits being made by Sarik. Or maybe they just are no longer interested in anything other than publishing the magazine.

Lindsey has tried to get the page rates up but with no success apparently.

Hi, this is my second attempt to post. I am looking for help to see if there are any model boat clubs in the Carmarthenshire area. I would be greatful for a reply even if its we cant help.

                    Kind regards Michael.

                      Hi Michael,

It’s rather a question whether any of our members know of a club than the magazine staff. I live in Surrey so I can’t really help but the Model Power Boat Association maintain a list of affiliated clubs:

                      Affiliated Clubs

                      Hope this helps,

                      Colin
