      Hi,

I'm hunting around trying to figure out why I can't reverse. I've followed the set up instructions (several times!) but still nothing, just a red light on the ESC.

      I'm using a Radiolink T8FB and a brushed, '550' type motor, on 7.2v 3000Mah Ni-Cad.

I noticed that someone, somewhere mentioned the need for a fully charged Ni-Cad during the set up. I had been doing some testing so the battery had already been used for about 15 minutes.

Forwards and rudder work as they should.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

      Best Regards,

      Ash.

Unplug everything, then swap over the connections into the receiver for the ESC, and the servo. The stick for the throttle and the servo are now exchanged. Plug it all back in and repeat the set up.

This will test whether it's a channel / stick centering problem or something else. Come back to us on here after you've tried it.

            Hi Chas,

            Thanks for the response.

Connections reversed – throttle now on left stick, rudder on right stick. After set up, moving left stick to the left – motor runs (forwards) – no lights on the ESC, moving the stick to the right produces a flickering red light on the ESC but nothing from the motor. Stick centre – green and red light on ESC.

Before I started playing with the Mtronik ESC, I was using an Electronize FR30HX and everything was working as it should.

            Ash.

Dead simple. If you're happy with the radio then the ESC is faulty. I understand that MTroniks are very good about replacing faulty kit, so I'd send it to them with a copy of this thread.

Thank you so much for your help. It was driving me nuts!

The ESC in question isn't new, so I'll just bin it.

All this came about because I wanted to change the motor I was using for an M500. Then I found the ESC and hoped that it would negate the need to buy I new one. Hey hoy! Cheats never prosper!

                Thank you again.

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions when I get stuck into my other boat projects.

                Take care and keep safe.

                Best Regards,

                Ash.
