Hi, can any body help an old duffer with a problem, I obtained a RC boat from the US, which worked very well, the problem I have got is, after it capsized, and water got in, I recovered it, drained it out, left it to dry out for 2 days.

When I conected the battery, without switching it on the motor started, but without any control what so ever, the only way to stop it was to disconect the battery,

Can any offer any advice as to what is required to get it to start working OK  again

I wellcome any advice from any source Thanks

        Hello Tommy

It sounds like there is still some water in the boats electronics or the water has caused a short within the electronics.

Check the receiver and speed controller for evidence of damp, if the model is a pre-built one then the electronics could be a combined unit and you might be able to remove the lid to dry it out.

If you could post a photo in the gallery section of the inside of the model showing a close up of the motor and electronics I might be able to give some more precise advice.

Meanwhile try leaving the boat open on a radiator with very gentle heat for a couple of days, this might just do the trick.

        All the best

        Paul

          Thanks Paul,

I tried your recomendation, i.e. leaving the boat open on a radiator, and it worked a treat, once again, thanks for the information and your time.

          Tommy
