Motor comparison

I had been thinking of powering my boat with a 555 motor, but have obtained a freebie in the shape of a Ripmax 'Lightspeed 600', I have the spec's for the 555 but not the 600 & I'm hoping someone here has, so that I can compare the two.

Any advice gratefully received.

Kip. What sort of boat is this and what voltage battery and prop diameter?

The 555 is suitable for warships and tugs possibly or fishing boats so on, turning up to about 45mm props at medium revs with a fair amount of torque.

The 600 is likely to be buzzy sort and say up to a 35mm prop, 15000 rpm AND at no more than 9.6v..however there are loads on 600 types out there.

Thanks Ashley, sounds like the 555 it's gotta be, I don't think a "buzzy sort" is suitable.

The boat is a 31" trawler with a '40' prop & 6v lead acid.

Paul, it's probably an attempt to get their own back, for all the 'northern speak' that they don't understand south of Watford.
