Model Engineering Show

Yesterday, I made my normal visit to the show at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally) in London and very enjoyable it was. As far as I am aware this show is organised by the publishers of a magazine called Engineering in Miniature. Does anyone know what happened to the other show which was backed by the Model Engineer magazine which is from the same publishers as Model Boats? This show ended up being held at I think Sandown Park during the period between Christmas ans the New Year, but the final one (about three years ago) was held at Brooklands in September.

Hi David,

Yes I've been going to the original ME shows since I was a boy in the 60's I think it ran out of steam 😀,

I bought a Model Engineer magazine yesterday, it's not what used to be !! But what is ?

AMBO used to exhibit at Ally Pally but the new organisers made getting in and out a chore.

The old MEX does seem to have faded away, last one was indeed at Brooklands in 2016. A great shame as in it's heyday it was the best in the UK covering all types of modelling. I was on the Marine judging panel for over 30 years and the last surviving marine judge!
