Hello Ash, sorry I'm late with my report on your efforts, we only got back just before Christmas and have only just now got time to add my bits here!
Excellent display and I'm going to pinch some of your ideas. It was a pity they put you on the ground floor away from the boaters upstairs, but you had a prime position and made good use of it. Having a wall behind to display your published items, and then making your display 3D (not just plonking models on a table top), items raised on plinths (the planes) or on a suitable ground (the all terrain armoured thingy) or under water (created using pale blue coloured perspex) all gave a good visual impact.
Keeping the table top clear of tags etc and mounting them up the sides also made it far easier to read without bending over the display and blocking others view too.
Here's some images I took, hope not to spoil Colin's report.

Ashley and his helper on the stand, Saturday of the Show. Note the background images of his projects.

The full display from a side view, shows the variation in display heights and space given to items (no clutter.)

The Topgear Bond car, suitably illuminated from below, and beneath the blue tinted perspex sheet, I'll copy that!

The all terrain armoured vehicle, note the display matting.
And finally, I couldn't resist this vehicle, not Ashley's, but the first time I've seen the RNLI transport lorry as a modelling subject, at 1/24 scale too.

I'll see you again Ashley, sometime in the summer, as we now have a very good reason to be regular visitors to your area, a 'great grandson' who I'm sure will be into model boats (if I have my way.)
Aye, Kimmo
