      Hi All

I have read this thread with a great deal of interest. I am, it seems younger than most on this forum being born in '68, but I kind of agree that technical skills are on the decline. Even when I was at school we did classes in Technical Drawing, woodwork, metal work and IT (such as it was) skills. It would seem as though these are not taught in the same sort of way anymore, which is a great shame in my opinion. Saying that however, as people with some degree of skill in these areas, not that I am really that skilled, I think we should do what we can, where we can, to pass on these skills.

With that in mind, my own children will all learn how to change plugs, fix things when they break and if they want to learn how to build models (cars, boats or planes). Hopefully that way we can save the universe from imploding.

      Regards

      Andy
