The Tech Guy advises me that it’s not a good idea to upload large image files as these can run into problems – not just confined to this site. They get cut right down once they are on the site anyway so there is no real point in doing this. It’s best to make a “desktop resolution” copy and upload that which only takes seconds. Image resizing programs are widely available and I have recommended two in the FAQ section on the left hand side of the home page. I have been uploading dozens of photos for the Article Database using this technique and the only time my upload failed was when I included some full size images in error!
If an upload fails, it seems that the connectiion is not always broken which “locks” things up when you do anything associated with the photos. I’ve found the only way to reset this is to close down the browser entirelyand reload or reboot the PC.
