The weather was just about bearable for our annual Model Lifeboat Extravaganza, yesterday

Took the Britannia yacht this time and had a very enjoyable day with old friends. The campervan was a real asset for brews and toast etc

          Hello Bob

Sorry I couldn't attend your event as I was looking forward to meeting all of you but my car decided to pump diesel into its sump and now I have a 'cooked engine'

I am really annoyed as its already been back on recall to have this problem fixed so now I expect to have a long row with the manufacturer over faulty parts.

          Oh the joys of motoring

          Paul

            Hello Paul

It would have been very nice to finally meet up with my old forum friend at long last, but I know your health is not too good these days, not to mention your car also.

Quite a few of your old Lifeboat gang were there……Arthur Barlow…….Les Jones……Dave Wooley plus lots more that I don't know the names of, but you probably do!

Arthur Barlow and Dave Wooley did the judging and Les Jones had brought his latest creation.

Arthur Barlow is building another masterpiece, a Lifeboat based in Scotland somewhere and is going to take a few eons to complete!

You could have met the Missus and our little dog Rosie and Duckie of course and had a sail of my Britannia yacht…..plus a brew in the jolly old camper!………See what you've missed?

Had a real challenge with Britannia, yesterday!

                    Why was that, Captain?

The tranny had got a duff battery, so I had to use the GE tranny

                    So what?

So what!…….All the controls were back to front!…. And have you tried re-setting the F16?…..It`s a back off job and then out with the pliers!brit-1000.jpg

Jeanie Deans has now got a new owner and he`s done an excellent new paint job!

This is our show organizer`s personal stand, Chris Gutteridge

He does a tremendous amount of work for the RNLI and deserves a big vote of thanks for getting the show on the road!

John Goddard, speed boat freak talking to ex Etherow member……..Dave Wooley!

The sad news chaps, is that the camera has thrown a wobbler and erased most of the pictures!

                    So that`s it fellas………..Bob

John Goddard in the last picture with Dave Wooley is half Greek and scratch built the Greek ferry he is holding from pictures he took on his holidays there.

There is a video of it on the water here at

                      **LINK**

Only short video but gives you an idea of it and who wants a long boring video anyway!

                        Hi Ducky

I've known John for a long time and never realised he was from Greek descent…..Until he mentioned it

                        Then it was obvious!

We shall miss him when he retires to Greece next year

                        Bob
