        Hi Paul,

Remember seeing this little tug whilst working on the docks.  You don’t get to see many out of the water and up on the dock side.

I remember reading about it ..Model Boats 1968 p526 and 1983 p253 and thought it horribly complicated … but at this stage the photo makes me appreciate where the jet-boat reversing scoop came from perhaps.    One things puzzles those curved scoops go where when in forward gear.  Cannot find the current Glynn Guest article, which month is it is?

            Hi JC,

They close only when reversing and open outwards when going forwards.  It then resembles a steerable Kortz nozzle in use,  both cups turning to port/starboard to steer the boat.

I no longer have any old issues and can’t remember which issue (may even have been in the other mag!) have a look at "Kens Bits" in the gallery for more pictures of it.

            Cheers – Ken

I just thought they would cause considerable drag when not folded around back of prop to give reverse.

Aw!  The Internet’s big enough for all of us I think…although I think by Len’s sad attempt at a wink he thought we wouldn’t catch on.   Sad really…

Vinnie,Does the EU working time directive know about all the hours you are doing,or is "Vinnie" the office name for the Duty Forum Editor?as you seem to be here 24/7, not that we don’t like your company.

Len, ’tis only me. And I am here 24/7. Although I’ve threatened to restrict myself to six hours a day, five days a week unless they up my salary from the £50 a week I get now.

It wouldn’t be so bad if they gave me a couple of days holiday a year.

Vinnie is a multi faceted, pan dimensional being from the planet Runcorn, they (that is the being Vinnie) are capable of doing a multitude of tasks at the same time, they dont require sleep or food and spend unhappy lives in front of a bank of computer screens.

Being capable of conducting hundreds of on line conversations at any one time they sometimes get their wires crossed and start talking gibberish. When this happens they are usually replaced by pocket calculators and retired to telephone call centers in India.

Some though escape captivity and become goat herders in Liverpool.
