Latest issue of MB arrived yesterday sporting a cover picture of a..? well I don't really know how to describe the speeding, splashing machine that adorns the cover.

I recognise different parts of the beast, such as the hydrofoil hull or the airscrew propulsion and even the bus body but these pieces have been put together like some kind of Frankenstein experiment.

Oddly enough this messing about with strange and mystic forces a strangely beautiful craft has been born, just like a butterfly emerging from a weird cocoon this craft seem to burst across the water with a grace and elegance that belies its demonic creation.

Needless to say that this is another of Ashleys amazing constructions and he has supplied copious amounts of text and images covering the history of this craft and he has also included a blow by blow account of his build.

Thanks very much Paul. Not a bad show, when you only have two oblique photos to work from!! I do not have a mag yet although someone bought one down to show me today at the (cold) pond, I had just a quick glance through.

Not only that but a centrefold!!! whatever next…I am hoping the next one makes page 3.

If you thought it looks a bit odd, you should see pictures of it from the front quarter!!…then it looks REALLY odd (not included in the article I think).

It reminds me of one of those American diners which were based on a classic towing caravan shape. Ashley never goes the easy route, does he? Brilliant!

Yes I liked the way you picked up the extra wonga with your centrefold spread (just how many times can you be paid for a cover page?)

I am sure that you will crack the page 3 barrier but hopefully not until the weather warms up.

What other fantastic craft can we expect to see

Hay Paul, the first pic is to easy Ashley leaves his trainers on the water to often. The second 'Sharks' he would build the ultimate shark killer, complete with depth charges!!!!! but the third!!!! an Egyptian pyramid on a V type hydrofoil with water jet propulsion. Hmmm is Ash really that mad????

                    Picnic???

Yes they are all to easy or the last one, daft.

there are several more vintage craft to come, so don't despair….
