Thank you everyone for your very helpful advice. Mdf is a definite no go as I have asbestosis and can well do without anything aggravating the lungs even more and cannot wear a mask as it makes breathing harder. Having worked with balsa before I have decided to go down that route and have now ordered it online as my local shop only sells very small pieces. Again my thanks.
