      Hi

Sorry I know next to nothing about model boats but I would appreciate some help on behalf of a friend who isn't that technically savvy.

He has a model boat he wants to sell, but we can find no name on it or any real information about what it is. I've attached some photos, and hope that somebody can give some gen about it and even how much it is worth – he isn't expecting much!

      Many thanks on his behalf

      Fiona

          Hi Fiona,

welcome to the site. It would help us if you could add a photo flat on from the side so we can see what type of keel and ballast system it has. The length, either metric or english would also help

It looks like a lovely job has been made of it. Was it made in UK, if it was I'm sure someone will come up with what it is.

Also does it have any radio equipment in it?

          Cheers………….Ron

The stand says "ornament" at first glance. Looking further, the rigging can't work either as an RC or free sailing pond yacht, so the ornament thinking continues. While it appears to have some "proper" fittings (rather than bits of bent wire), I suspect that rather than a model of a specific prototype, it is just a generic item intended to dress up an area near a bookshelf.

A look in a gifts and fancy goods shop might show some similar items, and give a clue to a realistic value, but really, it is worth whatever the eventual buyer is prepared to pay.

              Hi Fiona,

Yes the boat is an ornament, not really a model of a specific boat, I have the fittings from one of these as some useful bits, solid wooden hull & keel, I kept the striped sails for a rainy day

              Regards Ray

                Hi All,

Gosh I really am going blind in my old age, didn't spot the stand at all, thought it looked quite nice for an R/C model.

I'm sure one of you could cut it down the length and hollow it out!!

                Ron.
